The 5th International Conference on Driver Distraction and Inattention (DDI2017) is to be held in Paris, France with a conference theme of “Meeting the Challenges of New Technology and Automation”. The conference aims to bring participants up-to-date on recent developments and trends in the field of inattention and distraction in driving, and to bring together researchers and practitioners. Participants will be invited to present and discuss current work covering basic and applied research, mitigation challenges, the latest policy developments, and priorities for research and countermeasures development.

ARSC2017: The Australasian Road Safety Conference

The Australasian College of Road Safety (ACRS), Austroads, ARRB and Curtin-Monash Accident Research Centre (C-MARC) invite you to attend the largest road safety-dedicated conference in the Southern Hemisphere. The 2017 Australasian Road Safety Conference (ARSC2017) will be held in Perth on the banks of the Swan River at the beautiful Crown complex from Tuesday to Thursday 10-12 October 2017.

With a theme of “Expanding our horizons”, ARSC2017 will showcase the regions’ outstanding researchers, practitioners, policy-makers and industry spanning the plethora of road safety issues identified in the United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety, including road safety management, infrastructure, safe vehicles, user behaviour, and post-crash care.

Support arrives for those affected by road trauma

Long awaited support for families affected by road trauma has finally become a reality with the opening of Road Trauma Support WA (RTSWA) under the management of Injury Control Council of WA. (ICCWA)

RTSWA offers information, peer support and specialised bereavement counselling for families living with the consequences of a road crash, as well as preventative education.

The free services will be widely available – those involved and/or injured, the bereaved - their families, carers and friends, those who may have caused a trauma, witnesses, first responders and emergency service personnel.
